(Bangkok Post file photo)The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has pocketed 72.8 million baht for 41 sought-after mobile phone numbers on the first day of the two-day auction on Saturday. NBTC secretary-general Takorn Tansathit said 100 numbers were auctioned on each of the two days. The number 091-999-9999 fetched the highest price of 8 million baht, attracting 63 bids, from the starting price of 3 million baht. It was trailed by 088-999-9999 (6.6 million baht) and 090-999-9999 (6 million). Of the 31 sold number with six-digit strings, 088-899-9999 fetched the highest price of 3 million baht, with 28 bids, from the starting price of 500,000 baht.
